Google Ads Management in Charleston, SC
We handle Google Ads management for Charleston businesses that want calls and form leads from people searching for their service right now, not just clicks. Campaigns are part of our paid traffic service, built on precise targeting and measured in a monthly report.
FB Agency is rated 5.0 from 3 reviews on Google (Google Business Profile, checked October 9, 2026). We work in English and Portuguese.
Where small Google Ads budgets usually leak
Three common leaks have nothing to do with the bid.
- The search terms. Broad keywords without a negative list pay for searches like "jobs", "free" or "how to", which never become customers.
- The destination. An ad that sends people to a home page with no phone number in sight loses the call it paid for.
- The measurement. If calls and forms are not counted as conversions, the account optimizes for clicks and nobody knows which keyword brought the job.
If you want to try it yourself first, our guide to Google Ads for small business walks through campaign types, the first search ad and the weekly search terms check.
What managing the account involves
Running a Google Ads account for a local business means looking after these pieces:
- keywords for the services you sell and the towns you serve, plus a list of negative keywords;
- search ads written around your offer;
- location settings that match the part of the Charleston metro you cover;
- conversion tracking for calls and forms, so bidding follows leads instead of clicks;
- budget and bids, adjusted as data comes in;
- reporting: our monthly performance report brings conversion data for every campaign.
Clients of our lead-generation service can also opt in to text alerts that tell them a new lead was captured by their campaigns and forms.
Search ads or Local Services Ads?
| Search campaigns | Local Services Ads | |
|---|---|---|
| You pay for | Clicks on the ad (cost per click, also called pay-per-click) | Leads related to your business and services, arriving as calls and messages |
| Who can run them | Almost any business | Only certain service categories |
| Trust badge | None | Google Verified badge in some categories |
| What affects results | Keywords, ad text and the page the ad sends people to | Answering the calls and messages: leaving them unanswered can affect your position |

Google reaches people who are already searching. To reach the ones who have not started looking yet, see Facebook and Instagram ads management.
Who it suits, and who faces extra rules
Search ads fit businesses whose customers type the job into Google when they need it: painters, cleaners, contractors, repair and other home services, plus restaurants for searches near the customer. Painting and cleaning, two trades on our client list, are typical examples; we cover the painting side in marketing for painting contractors.
Housing, employment and consumer finance ads in the United States cannot be targeted by age, gender, marital or parental status, and cannot use ZIP code location targeting (Google Ads policy). A realtor, a lender or a company hiring staff plans its campaigns within that limit.
The first weeks, step by step
- A conversation about the services that bring the most profit, the towns you cover and how leads reach you today.
- Account setup or review, conversion tracking, keywords and the first ads.
- Google's review: most ads are reviewed within one business day, and editing an ad sends it back to review (Google Ads Help).
- The learning period: automated bidding needs a standard 7 to 14 days to learn, and Google advises avoiding changes to the budget, the target or the goal during that window (Google Ads Help).
- Monthly report and adjustments.
A phone call can count as a conversion when it lasts longer than a minimum duration you set (Google Ads Help), which is how a call from a search ad becomes a number in the report.
Who controls the Google Ads account
Agencies manage client accounts through a Google Ads manager account. The client's administrator accepts the link and, in Google's words, can end the relationship with the manager account at any time by unlinking (Google Ads Help).
Access levels go from read-only to admin, and Google recommends having more than one administrator on the account. Whoever you hire, ask to see that setup before the first campaign goes live.
What decides the cost of Google Ads management
- the plan: Start lists performance marketing campaigns, and Premium adds paid traffic management, sales support and training, and expert consulting;
- the scope inside the plan: how many campaigns and services the account covers, and whether it starts from zero or from an existing account.
The clicks or leads themselves are what Google charges for the ads, separate from the work of managing them. The proposal shows how each part is handled.
Google Ads questions we hear
Who handles Google Ads?
Either someone on your team, a freelancer or an agency working through a manager account linked to yours. Whoever it is, the account, the billing and the conversion data should stay under your business's name.
How much should I pay someone to manage my Google Ads?
It depends on the plan and the scope: how many campaigns and services the account covers and whether it starts from zero. Ad spend is a separate cost paid to Google for the ads. A written proposal lays out both.
What is a PPC campaign?
Pay-per-click: you pay when someone clicks the ad, not when it is shown. In Google Ads that is cost-per-click bidding.
Is PPC better than SEO?
They do different jobs. Paid search shows up as soon as the ads are approved and stops when the budget stops; organic results take longer and keep working without paying per click. Many businesses use ads while their organic presence grows.
