Painting Contractor Marketing in Charleston, SC

Painting contractor marketing, the way we do it, starts on the job site: we photograph and film your crew and your finished rooms and exteriors, turn that into Meta and Google ads and social posts, and coach your team to follow up on estimate requests.

How homeowners pick a painter

Painting is a planned purchase: people compare several companies before they let anyone into the house.

They look at photos of finished work, read reviews, check whether the company is registered or licensed and notice how fast someone answers. Marketing for a painter has to win on each of those points, which is why pictures of real jobs and a quick reply matter more than a clever slogan.

What we do, channel by channel

Photos and video at the job site

We shoot on location: prep, the crew, the before and the after, the details that show care. That material feeds everything below. Planning and editing are covered on our page about video production in Charleston.

Meta ads

Before-and-after creatives shown to homeowners in the towns you serve, ideally with a separate message for interior, exterior and cabinet work when the budget allows it. More on targeting and lead forms in Facebook ads management in Charleston.

Google search ads

Ads for people typing "house painter" or "exterior painting" with a town name, and negative keywords that keep out do-it-yourself and job-seeker searches. Details on Google Ads management in Charleston.

Social media

Instagram and Facebook kept current with finished jobs, so anyone who checks you after seeing an ad finds recent work.

Estimate follow-up

Sales support and training, part of the Premium plan, means coaching and training so your sales team converts more; for a painter, that is whoever answers the phone and the messages about estimates. Clients of our lead-generation service can also opt in to text alerts when a new lead comes in.

Registration, licenses and lead paint: proof that belongs in your ads

Homeowners check these things, and the rules also limit what an ad can say. What the official sources say (read October 9, 2026):

  • Residential work. In South Carolina, painters are a class of residential specialty contractor that registers with the Residential Builders Commission once a job passes the amount set in state law; no exam is required. The law covers both doing and offering to do the work without registration (SC Code, Title 40, Chapter 59).
  • Commercial work. Above a higher threshold, commercial painting falls under the Contractor's Licensing Board as nonstructural renovation, and the law forbids using the term "licensed contractor" without that license and requires the exact license name in advertising (SC Code, Title 40, Chapter 11).
  • Homes built before 1978. The EPA says firms cannot advertise or perform renovation work covered by its lead paint rule in pre-1978 homes or child-occupied facilities without firm certification (EPA, RRP for contractors). South Carolina does not run its own program, so the EPA administers it here.

A registration number, a license name used exactly as issued, and an EPA Lead-Safe badge that you actually hold are worth showing on your ads and profiles. Anyone can look a South Carolina registration up on the LLR license lookup. This is marketing guidance, not legal advice: confirm your own case with the LLR and the EPA.

Residential, commercial and the kind of job

A homeowner choosing a color for the living room and a property manager repainting a strip center are different buyers. The first wants trust and clean work around the family; the second wants schedules, insurance papers and crews that can work around tenants.

Ads and posts work better split by those audiences, and by job type (interior, exterior, cabinets) when you want more of one kind of work.

Matching ad spend to the crew's schedule

Ads should follow your calendar. When the crew is booked weeks ahead, spend can come down; when a gap opens, it goes up and the message shifts to the work you can start soonest. Sharing the crew's capacity each month lets the ad plan follow it.

Counting what turns into jobs

The monthly report brings reach, engagement and conversion data for every campaign. Leads are only half of the story for a painter: add how many became booked estimates and how many became signed jobs, and you see which channel pays for itself.

What shapes the cost for a painting company

  • the plan you choose on our home page: estimate follow-up coaching (sales support and training) and paid traffic management are listed in Premium, while job-site video and photo production is in both;
  • the scope inside the plan: which channels you want and how much filming of jobs they need.

Ad spend, what Meta and Google charge to show the ads, is separate from the work of running them. A company just starting usually needs the photos and a solid profile first; one that is growing usually needs ads and faster follow-up. The proposal is built for the stage you are in.

Questions painters ask before hiring an agency

How do I promote my painting business?

Show finished work with real photos, keep your Google and social profiles current, ask happy customers for reviews, and answer estimate requests fast. Ads speed that up once the basics are in place.

Do I need a license to paint homes?

In South Carolina, residential painting needs a registration with the Residential Builders Commission once a job passes the amount set in state law, and commercial work above a higher amount needs a Contractor's Licensing Board license. The LLR has the current rules.

Facebook or Google for a painter?

Google catches people already searching for a painter; Facebook and Instagram show your work to homeowners who were not looking yet. Many painters use both, with Google for urgent jobs and Meta for planned projects.

Do you guarantee results?

No one can honestly guarantee leads from ads: the auction, the season and your prices all play a part. What you get every month is the work and the numbers in the report.

Do you work with Brazilian-owned painting companies?

Yes, in Portuguese if you prefer. We work in both English and Portuguese, so owners can discuss their marketing in their own language.
